You guys … you guys!! “By the Weight of Blood,” the final book in The Reckoning trilogy, is live in the world! So much to celebrate with this one: the end of Selah’s primary arc, the completion of my first trilogy, and the many (many!) lessons I learned as these characters came alive on my pages.

I’m proud of this book. This is the final installment in Selah’s primary arc, but wow … Caden and Mona nearly killed me. So many of my “side characters” grew and ached and tried and failed … and tried again. I hope that, if you brave its pages, you fall into them and find dreams and stories and characters that won’t let you go, even when you get to the final page.

If that’s an adventure you’d like to start, the journey officially begins with “In the Shadow of Secrets.” You’ll find secrets, intrigue, danger — and Selah with all her fire and her stubborn determination to protect her loved ones, even when it costs her.

Next Steps

Does that mean I’m done with the Sundered Realms? 

Um, no. Not even close. 

Creatively, I’m juggling two things: the First Daughter’s story and Mona’s story. The First Daughter, while drafted, is going to need a lot of work. Like massive rewrites and an entirely new ending. 

And then there’s Mona. 

I tried to resist, I really did, but she is INSISTING. 

So I’m listening. 

I’m listening and I’m writing and I’m seeing where her story goes. (If you haven’t started The Reckoning yet, you can get a feel for Mona and why she’s compelling me to write her story here. This girl is so much stronger than she thinks she is, which is why she’s managing to strong-arm me!)

April Goals for the Sundered Realms

• First Daughter: I’m going to figure out all of the changes that need to be made and have a plan to make them. 
• Mona’s Story: Follow her story to see how it goes. And how it’s going to influence the First Daughter’s story, because it will. Timelines. (Timelines!)
