Overall, I’m pleased with the progress I’ve made this week:
- Selah’s story: In addition to knocking out a few thousand words (!), I fixed some of the plot holes that were making it difficult for me to make forward progress. I’ve also set up a schedule that (I hope) will make it easier for me to keep making forward progress! My goals for this week are:
- Figure out a dang title!
- Write to the point that The Reckoning reaches Selah at school.
- The Ruin of Ehslyng: Whew! In reading over this short story … yeah, it’s definitely not Young Adult fantasy any more. I cried re-reading. That said, my goal for this one is to finish making my first-pass edits, and then decide if this story needs more fleshing out. Since’s it’s going to be the freebie for my newsletter subscribers (hint hint! you can sign up on my home page), I’d like to keep it pretty straightforward. So I probably won’t add too much more, but never say never.
- To Kill the King: This one is going to be marinating for a while as I finished up the first draft of Selah’s story.
- Harbinger: Same story as To Kill the King: Backburnered while I’m focused on other projects (I have only so much spare time!).
So onward! Into the depths of Selah’s secrets and the downfall of a king!
